3rd Annual Salsa Competition

Get ready for SSB's 3rd annual Salsa competition on Sunday, August 17th, from 2-4 PM Not the dancing kind of salsa, but the EATING KIND! Do you think you've got what it takes to win? Start getting ready and perfecting your recipes and secret ingredients! Here's how to participate: This contest is open to all homemade salsa creators. The competition is restricted to non-commercial salsa. The salsa must be made in your home. Please prepare 2 quarts of your salsa in a dated, labeled sealable container such as a ball or mason jar with sealable lid or a “Zip Lock” type container with sealable lid. All entries will be refrigerated until judging time. Bring your entry to Sturdy Shelter Brewing between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM on 8/17/25. SSB will provide scoresheets, sampling cups, and spoons and tortilla chips. Judging will be based on people's choice, and any leftover food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. $10 registration fee to enter a dish, and it's $5 to be a judge.
