Sturdy Shelter Speaker Series

Talk Sturdy to Me! Speaker Series, Thursday, April 23, 7-8:30, with Sam Berk presenting: Bison Grazing Behaviors and Impacts on Tallgrass Prairie.  Sam is an ecologist who recently earned her Masters in Biology from Northern Illinois University. Working in the field of conservation and restoration, Sam has a background in community ecology and specializes in native prairie plants. She has been heavily involved with research and management at Nachusa Grasslands in Franklin Grove, from conducting vegetation surveys, to small mammal monitoring, and even prescribed burns. Sam's own research focuses on how the reintroduction of American bison affects tallgrass prairie plant communities.  Proceeds support our community pantry! Grab your ticket today!  Arrive at 6:30 and grab a beverage, talk begins at 7 PM.
