SUMMARY:Live Music: Lou Shields
DESCRIPTION:Lou Shields continues the tradition of American music with a solo-performance that pulls in styles of days-gone-by. Using his 1931 National Resonator Guitar or Banjo accompanied by a unique front porch style of foot percussion and harmonica\, he uses his voice as an extension of the past. Lou carries a full sound during live performances while sharing stories\, thoughts and experiences with the audience. He has toured throughout the United States and Europe for over 15 years and has released 8 full-length albums and 13 EP’s.\nLou grew up in Chicago\, living downtown or in the South Suburbs his entire life. While downtown he owned an art gallery in Pilsen at 18th and Halsted. Lou often creates his art from experiences on the road. He will take a picture of an old home in Mississippi and then draw it later or he takes inspiration from people and scenes in his wife’s early 20th century photo collection. He exhibits his art in Gallery shows or sells prints out of his merch box or at his wife’s vintage clothing store — Driftless Artifacts in Viroqua WI. He often blends his art and music by creating album art and show posters for himself and other musicians. In addition to being an artist\, Lou is also a Professor of Art at a college in the Chicago-area. He enjoys teaching young students about art appreciation and art history a few days a week.\nIn 2015\, Lou purchased land and a salvaged wood cabin in the Driftless Region of Southwest Wisconsin (near Viroqua) where he is setting up an off-grid homestead. Lou loves working with wood and reclaimed materials due to his deep connection to the past. The homestead is filled with antiques he found on the road from stopping at roadside estate sales and thrift stores. In addition to the cabin\, Lou has built a screen porch\, tiny house\, an amazing reclaimed shed and other antique-styled outbuildings. Lou hired the Amish to build a barn on his homestead for woodworking and for community music gatherings. He also completed a log cabin in 2020 that was built on the high bluff with views of the Kickapoo River. Lou enjoys playing his banjo on the front porch of his Kickapoo River Valley Homestead.\nIn addition to living in the Chicago-area and Kickapoo Township\, Wisconsin he also lives in Madison with his Wife\, Stacey Roou who resides and works in the area as a Marketing Manager. Lou has no problem splitting his time between three areas – after all they are not that far apart and it gives him a balance of city and country life. Lou’s heart is on the road and he loves the ability to spend his time in different areas.

SUMMARY:Live Music: Sophie Coyote
DESCRIPTION:Sophie Coyote is a singer/songwriter from the small mid-western town of Waddams Grove\, Illinois. Born in an old farm house surrounded by rolling fields. She was raised on a broad range of musical influences that include classic rock & roll\, honky-tonk country and a bit of blues. This open mind of influence has led to a songwriting style that is reminiscent of the raw and honest age of music; lyrically driven with interesting stories\, unique twists and word-play.​​ In March of 2022 she released a live recorded E.P. titled “Indigo Child” featuring 6 of her original songs. The E.P. was recorded on a small microphone with raw\, single-take acoustic tracks showcasing the bare-bones of Sophie’s songwriting talents as well as her unique vocal stylings. The E.P. propelled her into the regional music scene with a full schedule of performance dates around and throughout the Midwest.\nGrand Rapids\, MI is where Sophie's first full production song titled\, “Venom” came to fruition. Showcasing producer Mark Lavengood’s talent on guitar\, bass\, mandolin & piano. The haunting fiddle was performed by Nashville\, TN country artist Lillie Mae. Drums by Cassady Feasby of the Dierks Bentely band. With producer Misa Arriaga\, Sophie went on to make her recently released single “Coyote Queen.'' Featuring six talented Nashville musicians\, as well as some howling coyotes.

DESCRIPTION:Jim DiDomenico began his professional music career in 1986 as a solo artist performing his songs and some of his favorite covers at Durty Nellies in his hometown of Palatine IL\, and The Ancient Mariner in Minocqua\, WI. In 1992\, Jim founded the Chicago-based band\, Underwater People. Throughout the '90s and early 2000s\, Underwater People played to 100's of thousands of people at shows across the U.S. Averaging almost 140 shows a year\, the band gained quite a following\, particularly in the Chicagoland area. The band has performed at countless street festivals and almost every live music club in and around the city. They've also headlined many of Chicago's most famous music venues including; the House of Blues\, the Park West\, the Vic\, and Navy Pier's Skyline Stage. The band has also played many post-race parties for events such as the Chicago Marathon\, the Shamrock Shuffle\, and the Chicago (world's largest) Triathlon. One of the band's most memorable performances was right at home plate at Wrigley Field. Currently\, while the band's public performances are limited\, the band plays at private events around the world. Jim has gone back to his roots and enjoys performing as a solo artist or as a duo or trio with his friends from the band\, Jacob Sweet and Colin Scott.

SUMMARY:Live Music: Matt Krahula
DESCRIPTION:Matt Krahula is a singer-songwriter signed to Pacific Records. Throughout his career\, he's been based out of New York\, Hawaii\, and Illinois.\nIn the early 2010’s\, his group\, The Nightmare River Band\, quickly rose to the top of the NYCmusic scene. The band performed at festivals such as Summerfest and SXSW. Their single “Mary” earned a nomination for an Independent Music Award (Best Alt-Folk Song)\, while their sophomore album\, “Last Goodbye” found its way to the College Music Top 40.\nAfter years of constant touring\, Krahula was in search of new inspiration and headed to the island of Oahu. On Oahu\, Matt linked up with Grammy Nominated\, Henry Kapono. From 2018-2025\, Matt toured as Kapono's bassist. His work with the legendary musician put him in the biggest venues in Hawaii\, sharing stages with the likes of Chicago and Mick Fleetwood.\nDuring this time\, Matt conceived the 4th Nightmare River Band record\, a re-imagination of NRB’s album\, “Last Goodbye”. The project is a compilation of Matt’s talented friends. Each friend recreated a song from the original album in their own style. Same songs\, 11 new artists\, 11 years later. The album was released in 2024 to rave reviews\, featuring artists such as Quiet Hollers\, Panama Wedding and Dan Romer.\nIn 2025\, Matt bid Hawaii “a hui hou” (until we meet again)\, and headed to the mainland. On his way back east he made a stop in Los Angeles\, where he recorded bass for the new Lilo and Stitch movie. His 7th album\, “This Island Life”\, was released this July on Pacific Records. It's an autobiographical album about his time in Hawaii.
