Island Ave\n3rd Floor\nBatavia\, IL 60510 \n(Entry is the main doorway across from the parking lot directly in front of the building) \nThis is an open call audition consisting of cold readings from the script. NO audition appointment is necessary. No monologue required. \nIn October 1998 in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie\, Wyoming\, Matthew Shepard\, a 21 year old student at the University of Wyoming\, was tied to a fence post\, severely beaten\, robbed\, tortured\, and left\, alone\, to die. His body -- battered\, bloody\, barely clinging to life -- was discovered eighteen hours later. He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support. He died five days later. The reason for this brutal crime? Matthew Shepard was gay. \nThe hate crime attracted vast attention worldwide\, bringing sexual discrimination and violence to the forefront of public discourse. The Tectonic Theater Project\, led by their founder Moisés Kaufman\, traveled to Laramie in the aftermath of the murder with the intent of creating a theatrical portrait of a town coming to grips with horrible\, hate-fueled violence. Over the course of a year and a half\, the group interviewed over 200 subjects\, some directly related to the case and some regular citizens of Laramie. Out of these interviews\, journal entries\, and found texts\, The Laramie Project was born. Hailed as one of the most captivating and encompassing pieces of contemporary theatre\, the play shocks\, challenges\, and moves all who watch it as it reveals the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion that lies within all human beings in any seemingly average community. \nPerformance Dates & Times:\nAugust 16th - 7:30pm (Friday)\nAugust 17th - 7:30pm (Saturday)\nAugust 24th - 7:30pm (Saturday)\nAugust 25th - 2:30pm (Sunday)\nAugust 30th - 7:30pm (Friday)\nAugust 31st - 7:30pm (Saturday) \nAll roles are available - there has been NO precasting of roles.\nPeople of all races and genders are urged to audition!! \nTYPICALLY\, there are 8 roles (4M\, 4F) in the show\, with each role playing multiple characters. All roles can be portrayed by an actor of any race\, ethnicity\, gender identity\, ability\, or age.  There is a very strong chance that more actors will be cast to play the over 60 roles. \nALL actors will be required to use props\, minimal costume elements and stage movement\, accents\, and acting techniques to portray multiple characters. All characters in the show are listed below but the directors reserve the right to modify the list of characters portrayed by each actor cast.

Island Ave\n3rd Floor\nBatavia\, IL 60510 \n(Entry is the main doorway across from the parking lot directly in front of the building) \nThis is an open call audition consisting of cold readings from the script. NO audition appointment is necessary. No monologue required. \nIn October 1998 in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie\, Wyoming\, Matthew Shepard\, a 21 year old student at the University of Wyoming\, was tied to a fence post\, severely beaten\, robbed\, tortured\, and left\, alone\, to die. His body -- battered\, bloody\, barely clinging to life -- was discovered eighteen hours later. He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support. He died five days later. The reason for this brutal crime? Matthew Shepard was gay. \nThe hate crime attracted vast attention worldwide\, bringing sexual discrimination and violence to the forefront of public discourse. The Tectonic Theater Project\, led by their founder Moisés Kaufman\, traveled to Laramie in the aftermath of the murder with the intent of creating a theatrical portrait of a town coming to grips with horrible\, hate-fueled violence. Over the course of a year and a half\, the group interviewed over 200 subjects\, some directly related to the case and some regular citizens of Laramie. Out of these interviews\, journal entries\, and found texts\, The Laramie Project was born. Hailed as one of the most captivating and encompassing pieces of contemporary theatre\, the play shocks\, challenges\, and moves all who watch it as it reveals the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion that lies within all human beings in any seemingly average community. \nPerformance Dates & Times:\nAugust 16th - 7:30pm (Friday)\nAugust 17th - 7:30pm (Saturday)\nAugust 24th - 7:30pm (Saturday)\nAugust 25th - 2:30pm (Sunday)\nAugust 30th - 7:30pm (Friday)\nAugust 31st - 7:30pm (Saturday) \nAll roles are available - there has been NO precasting of roles.\nPeople of all races and genders are urged to audition!! \nTYPICALLY\, there are 8 roles (4M\, 4F) in the show\, with each role playing multiple characters. All roles can be portrayed by an actor of any race\, ethnicity\, gender identity\, ability\, or age.  There is a very strong chance that more actors will be cast to play the over 60 roles. \nALL actors will be required to use props\, minimal costume elements and stage movement\, accents\, and acting techniques to portray multiple characters. All characters in the show are listed below but the directors reserve the right to modify the list of characters portrayed by each actor cast.

You will learn different weaving techniques like Tabby weave\, Rya Knots\, Twining\, how to build your fringe\, and how to use wool roving. At the end of class your weave will stay with me\, and I will remove it from your loom and attach it to a wooden dowel rod. Your weave will be ready for pick up 1 to 2 days after class. You can BYOB. If you would like\, you can upgrade your wooden dowel rod to a piece of Cholla for $10.00. If weaving is something you fall in love with\, my weaving kits are available for purchase. Normally $85.00\, they go down to $70.00. What's included in kit? You get a wooden frame loom\, warp cord\, weaving wooden comb\, wooden needle\, large eye metal needle\, shuttle\, scissors\, heddle for double warping your loom\, and finally a carrying bag so you can take your loom on the go!
