SUMMARY:Pottery Playdate
DESCRIPTION:Come make messy memories with your littles! This workshop is intended for a minimum of 1 adult and 1 child with the option to add on additional adults and children. Each person will be provided with 1 pound of clay to build and paint a clay creation! The minimum age for attending children is 3. Your instructor will help guide you through hand-building techniques and assist when needed. Adults can bond with their littles as they assist them with their projects. Make separate projects or work on one together! Projects examples will be provided\, but imagination and free styling are welcome and encouraged! This is a 1 1/2-2 hour workshop with minimal clean up from participants required. At the end of your playdate\, each person will get to choose a creation to have fired. (Pottery will need to be glazed and fired. DESCRIPTION:A one-day workshop where the wooden loom will be warped for you so all you have to do is fill up your warp cords with beautiful fibers that you choose. You will learn different weaving techniques like Tabby weave\, Rya Knots\, Twining\, how to build your fringe\, and how to use wool roving. At the end of class your weave will stay with me\, and I will remove it from your loom and attach it to a wooden dowel rod. Your weave will be ready for pick up 1 to 2 days after class. You can BYOB. If you would like\, you can upgrade your wooden dowel rod to a piece of Cholla for $10.00. If weaving is something you fall in love with\, my weaving kits are available for purchase. Normally $85.00\, they go down to $70.00. What's included in the kit? You get a wooden frame loom\, warp cord\, weaving wooden comb\, wooden needle\, large eye metal needle\, shuttle\, scissors\, heddle for double warping your loom\, and finally a carrying bag so you can take your loom on the go! DESCRIPTION:From April 19 – 26\, the Congregational Church of Batavia will host the Building Bridges* photo exhibit featuring 19 photographs of Immigrant and Refugee families and individuals\, as we lean into the Biblical command to care for the resident aliens among us. \n*Building Bridges includes photographs and interviews with people who have come to the United States as immigrants\, refugees\, or asylum-seekers from around the world\, countering anti-immigrant rhetoric and challenging damaging myths and stereotypes. \nThursday\, April 23 we will host a night for the community to come and see these photographs. \n• The event will open at 5:00\, for folks to view the exhibit. \n• At 6:00\, Joel Duncan from World Relief will speak on the issues surrounding refugees in America. \n• Afterwards will be a Dessert reception with food from immigrant owned bakeries. \n• A free will offering will be split between World Relief\, and Family Diversity Projects*. \n*Family Diversity Projects is a national nonprofit devoted to helping eliminate prejudice\, stereotyping\, bullying\, harassment\, and discrimination based on sexual orientation\, gender\, gender identity\, race\, national origin\, religion\, and disabilities of all kinds.\nWe tell the stories of real people presented in eight award-winning\, traveling photo-text exhibits. \nYou can view the exhibit on April 23\, or by coming to 10:00 AM worship on April 19 or 26

We will give you a tour of the equipment and guide you through a basic introduction to throwing on the wheel. No prior experience is required! At the end of the session\, you will get to choose two of your masterpieces to take home with you. (Pottery will need to be glazed and fired.
